Joshua James Bennetts Obituary, Cause of Death – Farmington Community Mourn Heartbreaking Loss of Josh
The Farmington, Missouri community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Joshua James Bennetts, who passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on August 13, 1984, in Fort Myers, Florida, Joshua’s passing has left his family, friends, and all who knew him grieving the loss of a man remembered for his infectious smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family.
Affectionately known as Josh, he was a skilled lineman whose dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his loved ones. Above all else, he cherished being a father to his daughters. His greatest joy was found in playing outside with Cadence Richardson, Jaida, Jazmine, and Jalaylah Bennetts, and spending time with his beloved nieces, who lovingly called him “Uncle Joshy.”
An outdoorsman at heart, Josh enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, and exploring creeks in search of arrowheads. Whether surrounded by nature or gathered with friends and family, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Those who knew him remember his fun‑loving personality, easygoing nature, and the goofy grin that rarely left his face. His ability to make others laugh and brighten even the darkest days made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.
Josh is survived by his daughters Cadence Richardson, Jaida, Jazmine, and Jalaylah Bennetts; his granddaughter Emmy Jane Walling; his mother Michele Evans; his father James Bennetts; his siblings Jenika Walsh, Jessica Walsh, Jamie Byrne, Alyssa Cree, and Joel Bennetts; his cherished nieces Jolie Bennett, Brooklynn Wengler, and Blacelynn Douglas; along with many other loving relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beverly and Calvin Schenk.
Family and friends are invited to honor Josh’s life at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Family visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a public memorial gathering from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Mike Haney. His inurnment will take place at a later date, with details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to help with funeral expenses. Contributions may be made payable to Jenika Walsh. They have expressed sincere gratitude for the many prayers, messages of support, and acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.
